Getting married at San Francisco City Hall is an iconic experience!
Here are our tips and recommendations for your wedding day.
To get married at San Francisco City Hall, you'll need to make two reservations: one for your marriage license and one for your civil ceremony. Once you receive your marriage license, it is valid for 90 days.
You can make a reservation for your ceremony
up to 90 days in advance on the
Office of the County Clerk website:

Ceremonies are held
Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 3:30pm
Remember to bring your legal photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.) and your marriage license.
Currently, the marriage license costs $107.
The fee for reserving a public civil ceremony is $86.
At least one witness is required to be present during your ceremony on a public marriage license.
Wedding guests are limited to 6.
If you'd like a more private ceremony,
or have more guests, you may reserve the
Mayor's Balcony or a Fourth Floor Gallery for a
1-hour ceremony starting at $1,000.
Wedding guests are limited to 100.
City Hall Wedding Events
Weekday ceremonies at San Francisco City Hall will take place in the Rotunda, right at the top of the grand staircase. You also have the option to get married in a private room.
For more private ceremonies, you may rent out the Mayor's Balcony, the North Fourth Floor Balcony, or the South Fourth Floor Balcony.
This is a great option for an intimate family wedding, undisturbed by the every day hustle and bustle inside City Hall.
No matter where you choose to have your ceremony, we will take you for portraits throughout City Hall, including the Mayor's Balcony and Fourth Floor Galleries, providing they are not reserved.
Ceremony & Receptions at San Francisco City Hall are usually held on weekends, typically Saturdays.
There are 2-hour weddings available to reserve on Saturdays starting at $5,000. It includes exchanging vows on the Grand Staircase of the Rotunda in front of up to 200 guests.
Additionally, you can reserve the entire City Hall for a weekend ceremony starting at $10,000.

receptions at one of the many beautiful restaurants and venues in San Francisco.
